The 6 Corporate Runs Worldwide You Shouldn’t Miss in 2017

We know the world of business can cause a lot of stress on your body. As you prepare to relax on the weekend, you should also consider throwing on those jogging shoes and go for a sprint. Running is a great way to relax, keep your body in a healthy condition and think - all essentials for staying on top of your game. As you get a hang of the running, you might look forward to participating in a corporate running event. These runs are best for combining work with leisure and there are tons of good runs to experience in 2017.

The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay

The Bloomberg Corporation has been organising its own immersive team building experience for quite a while now. It’s a wonderful relay with 10-man teams running one-mile and passing on the baton before relaxing at the Race Village having a drink and laugh.

The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay takes place in different cities across the world. Some relays have already taken place but there are still plenty of events for you to get involved with. Here are the race locations and dates you can still be part of the show:

  • Tokyo, 26 May
  • San Francisco, 3 August
  • London, 21 September
  • Singapore, 26 October

Corporate FunRun

Corporate FunRun is another multi-event you could consider. The organisation operates in the USA and that’s where to different events also take place. This year, there will be a total of 18 events up and down the East Coast and over 350 teams will be participating. Participants will be running 5k and enjoying beer, food and music afterwards.

Some events still coming up include:

  • Northern Virginia, 27 June
  • New Jersey, 25 July
  • Greater Philadelphia, 15 August
  • Garden State, 7 September

J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

Then there are the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge runs that span across 13 cities in seven countries. The teams can enter a team of four members (two men, two women) and the best teams even get the chance to participate in the Championship event. Each participant must run 5.6km and the events still coming up this year include:

  • Boston, 8 June
  • Frankfurt, 13 June (Drooms is participating!)

Standard Chartered Great City Race in London

London is famous for the city’s marathon but the bustling city also hosts an annual corporate running event. The Standard Chartered Great City Race will feature participants from businesses working in the accountancy, banking, media, and insurance and legal sectors. The run’s proceeds go to Seeing is Believing non-profit and in 2017, it will use the money to support East Africa Child Eye Health programme.

When? The event’s date has moved from 13 June to Monday 24 July due to the General Election in the UK.

City vs. Wharf Corporate 5k Run Challenge 2017

The streets of London will also host a corporate event that solves which business district is faster: Canary Wharf of the City. The 5k event will take place in East London and the runners will get to enjoy the stunning Victoria Park on their journey. City vs. Wharf Corporate Run Challenge is the oldest in London and companies can raise money for their chosen charities. Entry for the competition is still open.

When? The 5k run takes place on 21 September.

Corporate Run4Good

The world-famous Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit hosts a great corporate event in October. The run is open or companies and departments, as well as different types of teams, with each participant having to finish 5k – fast or slow. The corporate run is a team-based run – the best four times from each business will be added to see the final position of each team.

When? The Corporate Run4Good takes place on 26 October.
